The Project Manager (Multifamily Construction) is responsible for the overall planning and supervision of capital improvement projects and asset preservation for our multifamily communities.


We own and manage multifamily apartment communities in select markets, with Support offices located in Tampa, FL and Austin, TX. The Project Manager oversees projects from start to finish and controls multiple construction projects simultaneously meeting Avesta’s and third party client requirements to produce functional and financially viable projects. The Project Manager is responsible for preparing budgets and estimates and reporting progress as well as evaluating construction methods and determining the cost effectiveness of plans. 





  • Schedule projects in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines, both pre and post-acquisition. This will include estimating, job costing, bidding, contract negotiations, sub-contractor selection (both identifying and qualifying), and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Deal Leads, Operations Managers, and Regional Service Foremen for successful project outcome.
  • Supervise day-to-day progress to include Project Managers, Superintendents, sub-contractors, general contractors, work in progress, monthly draws and project closeout.
  • Oversee budget analysis, review and monitoring.
  • Provide independent professional advice and guidance to senior manager and third parties.
  • Plan site activities in detail, setting targets and accurately forecasting completion dates.
  • Interact with Purchasing Team for vendor compliance.
  • Follow appropriate processes for vendor selection and ordering in OpsTechnology.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate amenity FAQs after unit renovations/upgrades are complete.
  • Determine community specific spec packages with Managing Director of Construction, Deal Leads, Operations Managers and Community Managers.
  • Frequently analyze and report ROI for all capital improvements.
  • Assist in updating capital plans and break out asset preservation vs. value add.
  • Travel as needed.


  • A minimum of 5 years of multi-family construction management required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Business Management or related field preferred or equivalent direct experience
  • Creative problem solver

  • Excellent leadership and people skills with ability to work with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to take on responsibility and make decisions
  • Advanced knowledge of building methods
