Overview

The Asset Management Analyst has an incredible opportunity to work closely with and learn from various support roles within Avesta with a primary focus on assisting the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) within the Asset Management team.  The analyst will work closely with asset management, operations, construction, acquisitions, portfolio management, investor relations, risk management and accounting teams.

 

Avesta is a multi-based real estate investment firm. Our primary business is the acquisition, renovation, and operation of multifamily apartment communities in select submarkets. We are a high-growth company: in 6 years we have acquired 12,000 apartment homes worth over $1B, executed more than 100 real estate transactions, and grown our combined investment-operating team to more than 350 teammates.  Over the long term, we plan to expand our business into new geographies and add new products such as senior housing, redevelopment, or other similarly complementary businesses with a heavy emphasis on the integration of technology.

Responsibilities

The Analyst will contribute to the success of Avesta by gathering information and data from various software platforms as well as Avesta teammates and relaying information to key Avesta Service Partners to drive financial and operational performance on-site.

 

Reporting

  • Maintain financial and operational reports and dashboards on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Gather, review and revise monthly and quarterly variance notes while working closely with Operations, Asset Management and Investor Relations
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting requests on a frequent basis

Financial Planning - Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Load financial and operational data to Avesta’s Adaptive Insights budgeting application on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the creation of acquisition budgets in Adaptive Insights
  • Assist in the creation of budgets and reporting packages for senior leadership and asset management

 

Financial Analysis

  • Analyze financial results at a community level on a monthly basis and identify areas for improvement
  • Benchmark financial performance against competitors and within similar markets
  • Assist the Asset Managers in monitoring financial performance against the business plan
  • Gather market and submarket data-points from Axiometrics and CoStar
  • Assist the Revenue Management team with analysis of rents, occupancy, market comps and market research

 

Asset Management

  • Participate in investor update calls and community tours/visits on a periodic basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial and/or commercial real estate fields, experience in asset management, operations, acquisitions and due diligence is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with an exceptional understanding of MS Excel
  • Top 10% performance player (A+) when compared to the best like kind players; with an extreme ambition to serve, learn, and execute.

Location: Based in Tampa.  Approximately 10%-25% travel outside of local geography.

 

Compensation: Competitive with market rates.  Performance-based incentive compensation.
