As part of the Capital & Acquisitions Team, the Investment Analyst will support multiple deals through their entire onboarding lifecycle, working with Acquisition Deal Leads from initial underwritings to due diligence support to closing on purchases.  The Analyst will also support the Capital side of the team preparing pitch materials, conducting market research, and answering various investor questions.

Under the supervision of the Director of Acquisitions, the Investment Analyst will support all aspects of the  acquisition process, from initial deal underwriting through due diligence and closing. 



  • Underwrite potential acquisitions in Microsoft Excel, considering all comparable properties and developing initial business plans for rents, capital improvements, and operational changes.
  • Update and maintain a database of proprietary financial real estate information and models.
  • Draft applicable investor and financing materials, including investment committee memos, detailing the thesis of the deal.
  • Work with financing team to source, quote, and place project-level financing.
  • Contribute to all due diligence efforts, including document review and coordination with third party vendors.
  • Support the interactions with institutional counterparties, including borrowers, lenders, sellers and equity capital partners.
  • Research and complete ad hoc projects.
  • Work effectively and successfully in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. 

Decision Rights

  • Create and vet each investment’s initial assumptions.
  • Identify which deals are most likely to be a fit for Avesta and pursue accordingly.


  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • 2+ years of work experience in the commercial real estate or banking sectors.
  • Ability to perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and function in a support role.
