The Construction Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring proper efficiencies applicable to all construction and project-related tasks as well as assist in the execution of all construction related jobs. This position will support and work with all levels of teammates throughout Avesta as well as outside vendors in an effort to ensure successful project completion.   • Lead the implementation of cutting edge construction management software and keeping Avesta’s construction and renovation processes at maximum productivity using tech-enabled services.
  • Conduct research on innovative services to help improve and streamline current construction processes, in addition to handling vendor vetting process and management.
  • Oversee the management and tracking of data driven dashboards tracking construction related metrics based on accuracy of schedule and budget as well as pushing this information to all relevant stakeholders in Community Operations and Asset Management.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in areas of bid review, construction draw review, project status review, and reporting.
  • Prepare credit applications, notice of commencements, permit applications, and any other construction-related forms as needed.
  • Execute construction contracts, change orders, and monthly service contracts (as needed).
  • Assist with new vendor setup and management, to include setup in accounting, procurement, and vendor compliance platforms.
  • Maintain an electronic filing system for contracts, forms, etc.
  • Collect, implement and track all project warranties.
  • Act as a liaison between Construction/Project Managers and Associates, vendors, and various departments on scheduling of projects both pre and post-acquisition.
  • Coordinate with Procurement/Purchasing Department on the creation community-specific spec books for all new acquisitions, while also maintaining existing communities’ business plans.
  • Provide support to the construction, compliance, and procurement departments throughout the due diligence process.
  • Assist Construction/Project Manager and Deal Lead with budget setup and analysis for new and existing communities.
  • Facilitate Construction teammate onboarding.
  • Facilitate, note take, and prepare for all weekly construction meetings for all active construction projects.


  • Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency and minimal supervision
  • Strong creative initiative and confidence in independent decision making
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills
  • Experience with multifamily renovations or development preferred
  • Knowledge of AIA documents specifically G702-703 and understanding of certificates of insurance (COI) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with focus on excel
  • Experience with Ops Technology, Yardi (Voyager, PAYscan, P2P), and Compliance Depot preferred
  • Knowledge of building methods, supplies, as well as estimating and job costing a plus
  • Knowledge of the Florida Lien Laws and any other state construction laws a plus
