Responsibilities:

The Business Training Program is an entry-level, accelerated two-year program in which the associate will learn all aspects of the multifamily business. Associates will participate in a series of rotations including acquisitions, redevelopment, and operations. The rotations will be designed specifically to prepare the associate for a high-responsibility investment or management role in Avesta with a strong combination of financial and operational skills.

 

The program will consist of (i) several 2- to 6-month rotations, exposing the associate to a wide range of functions. During this time, participants will receive formal and informal training, personalized coaching, and be given the opportunity to interact with senior executives.

 

Primary Rotations include:

  • Operations: leasing and marketing; financial management and budgeting; customer service; procurement; collections/evictions; asset management decision-making

 

Possible rotations include:

  • Acquisitions: financial modeling; transaction assistance; market research; community visits
  • Redevelopment: assistance to project managers; property inspection and planning; construction contracting and monitoring; lease-up/marketing strategy

 

The position will likely require substantial moving and travel between Avesta’s headquarters in Tampa and current and prospective property locations throughout the Southeast.

 

Finally, rotations are accompanied by a rigorous combination of readings and discussions in a format that demands associates sharpen each other’s thoughts and actions.  These are designed to help associates develop relevant business skills, a broader understanding of business and investment principles, and long-term direction in their careers.
